Sophia Eisenbart Macias is a BFA graduate from Austin Peay State University, working in collage, paint, and digital formats.

Art has always been central to my life, shaping my identity and creative voice. My journey began with my mother’s encouragement and deepened through college, where I fell in love with painting, collage, and papermaking. Over time, I developed a fascination with the ordinary—especially discarded materials like paper, which hold traces of existence through scribbles, notes, and wear.

As a Hispanic artist and high school art teacher, my work reflects my cultural heritage, personal experiences, and a desire to capture fleeting moments. Influenced by wabi-sabi, I embrace imperfection and transience, weaving found materials into collages that evolve into paintings. Each piece serves as a "Proof of Existence," inviting viewers to find beauty in the overlooked and connect with the emotions embedded in everyday objects.
